Kathy Fiscus

President/ Treasurer/ Director

Kathy is an avid advocate for her son Cyrus, who was born with severe mental and physical disabilities. Kathy believes that all people, regardless of their abilities, are valuable and deserve an enriching life in which they can strive to be their best selves.  

It is with this passion and vision that she has founded Sunrise Village; a safe, community-based environment that is nurturing and parent-approved.

Kathy has been a stay-at-home mother since 2006 and a homeschool instructor since 2012. From 2013 to 2017 she was the secretary and treasurer for a small business she started with her husband. She has studied education, genetics, neurology, business, and the social sciences.

Dan Fiscus


Dan has worked in industrial and facilities maintenance since 2002, with a focus on reliability and predictive technologies.

From 2013 to 2017 he was the president of a reliability business he started with his wife, Kathy.

He has a degree in Electronics Engineering from Hamilton Technical College

He and his family share the belief that everyone deserves a safe and loving environment in which to thrive. 

He lives in Bettendorf, Iowa with his wife and their two children.

Jennifer Struss


Jennifer is a stay-at-home mother and home school instructor.  Her youngest son was born premature and has cerebral palsy.
She has a passion for assisting.  Jennifer loves seeing individuals with disabilities reaching their full potential and doing what is thought to be impossible.
She works part-time providing respite to special needs children in the Quad Cities; and works as an Independent Support Broker, setting up Financial budgets for individuals with disabilities in Iowa.
She lives in Davenport with her husband and three children.

Kari Keever-Hall


Kari is an advocate for the well being and safety of those in the special needs community. Her compassion and vision for special needs community living developed after the birth of her son, Hudsen, who lives with complex special needs.

She has an undergraduate degree in Biology from Augustana College and completed master’s coursework in justice, law, and society at American University.  Kari’s love of caring for people led her to complete a nursing degree, and she is currently employed locally at Unity Point at Home.  Kari works as a pediatric registered nurse and serves clients in the Quad City area.  Her duties often consist of organizing, monitoring, and orchestrating the complex care of special needs children.

Kari loves spending time with her family, being outdoors, and gardening.
